6th June 2013
Property Rights Australia will celebrate its 10th year at our Conference to be held at the Highfields Cultural Centre, Toowoomba on Saturday 15th June, 2013 with a Meet and Greet at Highfields Tavern on Friday night. Registrations will commence at 8.00 am.
Ashley McKay will give a history of the achievements of the organisation.
Queensland Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestries, John McVeigh will give a presentation.
PRA stalwart Phil Sheridan will give a rundown on the amendments.
Bring your smart phones, tablets and laptop computers for a session with Alex Sparks who runs a web site for farmers. He will also give us some tips on engaging with social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Every farming family should have at least one member who uses this media and if you needed any convincing just take a look at the recent Animals Australia/Coles campaign.
Tom Marland of Creevy Russell Lawyers will talk about access and compensation agreements.
Members will talk to us about their experiences in dealing with mining, CSG and infrastructure companies. Farming families have genuine concerns in their interaction with these companies. Some would appear to be easily resolved but no such resolution occurs.
We will explore the encroachment of the Panda into Queensland agriculture.
