30th January 2007The Queensland Coalition today announced changes to the Opposition front-bench, in an effort to hold the Beattie Government to account for ‘its nine years of mismanagement’.
Deputy Coalition Leader, Dr Bruce Flegg, will add the crucial area of infrastructure to his Treasury responsibilities, reflecting the current roles held by the Deputy Premier, Anna Bligh.
Fiona Simpson will become Shadow Minster for State Development, Shadow Minister for Small Business and Employment, as well as Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations.
She will also have responsibility for a Decentralisation policy.
Vaughan Johnson will take on responsibilities for Indigenous Affairs, which will be a stand alone department in any future Coalition Government.
Coalition Leader, Jeff Seeney, said he believed the changes would significantly bolster the Coalition’s ability to hold the Beattie Labor Government to account for their numerous failings.
